Hello, I’m Colin and I have over 20 years experience in this wonderful industry. I trained at Vidal Sassoon and have held just about every position in a salon, including being a salon owner, which has led me to where I am today, one of the founding Fantastic Hairdresser Coaches.
I know the joy of having a record week in the salon but I also understand how desperate it feels when you get an unexpected bill from the landlord for £9,000 of maintenance!
To succeed, you must do 3 things – that’s it. You need to prepare, plan and take action, consistently. Let me show you how.
My three core strengths are:

A bit more about me and my background
I’ve always believed that when you decide to do something, you should make every
possible effort to be the best at whatever you do. When I chose to become a
hairdresser, there was only one place I was heading for, and that was Vidal Sassoon. After what can only be described as an excellent grounding in hairdressing in our
wonderful industry, I worked at a fabulously successful salon in Heathfield, Sussex,
called Topknots. I didn’t really know it at the time, but this was where I first learned
about ‘The Other Stuff’ that makes us truly Fantastic Hairdressers.
After several wonderful years at Topknots, I opened my own salon, eventually
employing a team of 23. During this time I realised that my true passion was for
educating hairdressers. I went to Christchurch University part time and qualified as a
trainer and assessor. Then I ventured out to a private hairdressing college, called
Partners4Training, where students could qualify to NVQ Levels 1,2,3 & 4 in hair and
beauty.
My love for the hairdressing industry has never left me, and when the opportunity to
work as a Foundation Coach alongside The Fantastic Hairdresser, it was such a huge
opportunity that I couldn’t turn it down.
It may be the case that there are no “problems” with your the business, you just feel you could do better... One of my favourite sayings is “It doesn’t have to be bad to get better.” I
can’t take credit for it, I heard Chris Evans say it on the radio, but I liked it!
So, whatever the current situation in your work/home life is, now is the time to get started in improving it.
